
Ms. Mattembe currently serves as a Board Member of the SELF Microfinance Fund, bringing over 15 years of distinguished experience in finance, higher education, and strategic management. She is a seasoned finance and management professional with a strong foundation in leadership, business strategy, and institutional development.
Throughout her career, Ms. Mattembe has held several senior leadership roles in both academia and the corporate sector, including serving as Chief Executive Director and Assistant Lecturer at the Institute of Finance Management (IFM). Her expertise spans financial management, microfinance, investment analysis, and women's economic empowerment—areas in which she continues to be a respected voice.
Ms. Mattembe is widely recognized for her visionary leadership, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to advancing financial literacy. She is dedicated to strengthening financial systems, unlocking access to finance for women entrepreneurs, and promoting inclusive economic growth across Tanzania and beyond.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Mattembe is a dedicated philanthropist, passionately supporting community development initiatives and championing opportunities for underserved women and youth. Her philanthropic work reflects her belief in empowering others and building sustainable, people-centered progress.
She is currently a PhD Candidate in Financial Literacy and Access to Finance at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. Ms. Mattembe also holds a Master of Science in Investment and Financial Mathematics from the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom) and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).Ms. Mattembe remains an active member of the IFM academic community and a committed advocate for women's financial empowerment networks.
