
Mr. Sangawe is currently serving as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of SELF Microfinance Fund, bringing over 20 years of experience in economics, policy formulation, and development management. He is an economist and policy expert with a distinguished career in public administration, macroeconomic management, and international development.
He currently serves as the Director of Policy and Coordination of Government Business at the Prime Minister’s Office, where he plays a key role in the formulation and alignment of national development policies and programs. Mr. Sangawe has also served in several senior government positions, including Director of Policy and Planning in the Vice President’s Office and Deputy Executive Secretary for International Trade and Economic Relations in the Ministry of Finance and Planning.
His leadership and expertise in strategic policy formulation, economic planning, and international cooperation have contributed significantly to governance reforms and institutional growth both in the public sector and within SELF Microfinance Fund.
Mr. Sangawe holds a Master of Arts in International Development and Management from the University of Bradford (United Kingdom) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam.
He serves on several boards, including the Board of Directors of SELF Microfinance Fund (as Chairperson), and the Governing Board of Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE).
