Ms. Santiel Yona Manongi is an accomplished Economist with over 20 years of experience in Tanzania’s financial and microfinance sector. She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of SELF Microfinance Fund, providing strategic leadership, ensuring institutional sustainability, and promoting financial inclusion.

She has extensive expertise in credit management, portfolio analysis, risk management, and capacity building for microfinance institutions. Prior to her current role, she served as Director of Credit Operations at SELF Microfinance Fund and previously worked with the Small Entrepreneurs Loan Facility (SELF Project).

She holds a Master’s degree in Economic Policy Management from Makerere University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam.

She is a Certified Board Director (Institute of Directors Tanzania) and has undertaken numerous professional trainings in governance, leadership, risk management, and microfinance operations both locally and internationally
