
Mr. Christopher Leonard Illomo is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in corporate services, planning, and microfinance management. He currently serves as the Director of Corporate Services at SELF Microfinance Fund, where he provides strategic leadership on financial management, policy formulation, human resources, and institutional planning. Over his career, he has held several key positions at SELF MF, including Acting Director of Corporate Services, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, and Capacity Building Manager. His earlier professional journey includes serving as a Regional Coordinator for MVIWATA in Iringa, and a Credit Officer at Vision Fund Tanzania. He has also successfully coordinated national-level projects, such as the AGRA-funded initiative to enhance farmers’ access to microfinance services.
Academically, Mr. Illomo holds a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development from the University of Dar es Salaam and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness from Sokoine University of Agriculture. His professional development is further strengthened by multiple trainings in corporate governance, leadership, strategy execution, SME financing, public procurement, and microfinance management from recognized local and international institutions. With over three decades of dedicated service, Mr. Illomo brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion for advancing financial inclusion and institutional growth in Tanzania.
